Director of Athletic Communications for New and Creative Media

Presbyterian College is seeking a Director of Athletic Communications for New and Creative Media in the Department of Athletics. This is a professional position responsible for providing assistance to the Associate Athletics Director for Communications and Game Operations.  Current sports responsibilities, which are negotiable, include football, wrestling, baseball, and tennis.

As a director of new and creative media, the candidate will be the primary contact handling PC's social media platforms, including the athletic department's facebook, twitter, Instagram, and snapchat accounts. This person will be responsible for developing and maintaining new media strategies, as well as designing/producing all graphics, in the promotion of PC athletics.
 
This position is a full-time appointment with benefits and a salary commensurate with experience. The negotiable starting date will be around July 2, 2018.

Bachelor’s degree required with a major in journalism, communications, public relations or related field preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent computer skills required. Knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign is essential. A strong familiarity with Stat Crew programs and website content management systems is a must, as well as a working knowledge of video production and editing.

A minimum of two (2) or three (3) years experience in media relations or sports information at the NCAA I or II level is preferred.

Duties include, but are not limited to, extensive copywriting (press releases, media guides and website), layout and design (media guides, website and other publications), editing and record keeping, as well as all game day obligations of assigned sports while assisting with other sports as necessary. 

The successful candidate will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with local, regional and national media to maximize coverage and exposure for PC Athletics through traditional media.

Some public address announcing may be required, as well as other duties as assigned by supervisor.
