Athletics Media Relations - Graduate Assistant

Ball State University, a Division I institution and member of the Mid-American Conference, has an opening for a full-time Graduate Assistant for Athletics Media Relations for August 2018-May 2020.

The Graduate Assistant for Athletics Media Relations will serve as the primary media contact for several Olympic sports, assist in game-day operations for all sports, assist in the preparation of digital guides, update the department's web site ( and social media sites, supervise student assistants and other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director for Strategic Communications.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in journalism, sports administration or related field, strong communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines and the ability to work nights/weekends. Preferred qualifications include two years experience in intercollegiate media relations/sports information setting, experience in desktop publishing using Adobe Creative Suite, experience in writing and editing press releases, experience in social media and experience with Stat Crew software.
