Position Summary
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, instructional academic staff position at the rank of Associate Lecturer in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science. The position will start on August 27, 2018.

The position requires teaching in the Sport Management program in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science. The candidate will need expertise to teach courses in Sport Communication and teach in one or more of the following areas: Introduction to Sport Management, Sport Finance, Sport Law, Sport Promotion, Sport Administration, Event/Venue Management, Sport Facilities, or Sport Sociology. Additional teaching in Exercise and Sport Science as assigned by the Department Chair may be included.

Under general supervision of the department chair, the person in this position is responsible for teaching undergraduate courses and advising students. In addition to preparing for and holding classes [face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online], teaching involves maintaining currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment, evaluating students’ work, assessing student outcomes, maintaining appropriate records, and holding office hours. In addition, these individuals will provide service to the department, college, and university. Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean.

Minimum Qualifications
The candidate must have an earned Master’s degree in Sport Management/Administration or closely related field at the start of appointment. The candidate will need expertise to teach courses in Sport Communication and teach in one or more of the following areas: Introduction to Sport Management, Sport Finance, Sport Law, Sport Promotion, Sport Administration, Event/Venue Management, Sport Facilities, or Sport Sociology.

Preferred Qualifications
Practical experience including internships and graduate assistantships in sport communication is desired. College teaching preferred.
