About the Department
The CSUN Athletic Department empowers more than 350 studentathletes and staff to achieve comprehensive excellence both on and off the field in 19 Division I intercollegiate sports through a diverse and inclusive educational experience. Major Duties
Under general supervision of the Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Communications, the Associate Director, Social Media and Feature Production oversees all official athletic department social media accounts and strategy. The incumbent develops a comprehensive social media plan and oversees its execution through all department social media accounts; creates, produces and publishes video features for use on social media and CSUN Athletics' website, focusing on outsidethelines content; manages the official CSUN Athletics' mobile app and enewsletters and assists with other website, social media and video tasks; selects and supervises social media gameday staff and assistants and CSUN Sports Network student workers; works with communications team and crossfunctionally with other Athletics departments to promote and spread information about CSUN studentathletes, coaches, sports and administrative efforts; and performs other duties as assigned. This position will be responsible for ensuring innovative, consistent, accurate and onbrand posts from all social media handles and will be charged to grow followers and user interactions.

Equivalent to graduation from a fouryear college in English, Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Video Production or a job related field. Equivalent to three years of fulltime professional or technical experience in public affairs, media relations, marketing, digital and social media and/or video production. Equivalent of one year of social media and/or video production experience, preferably at a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level athletics program.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Thorough knowledge of social media technology and trends, video production and ability to use effectively media outlets including planning media coverage and media publicity campaigns for the university and events; web communication techniques, vehicles and formats. Working knowledge of: marketing and research techniques and methods; copyright and other applicable laws pertaining to publications and the media. Working knowledge of adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Stat Crew, and website and broadcast software. Working knowledge of video production. Knowledge of sports rules/terminology; NCAA compliance regulations; interview techniques and the ability to define and deliver media messages. Ability and specialized skills to: apply market research to identify communication needs and target audiences; keep abreast of campus events and subject matter expertise in relation to current events to identify and capitalize on media opportunities that will promote the university and increase positive coverage; effectively use web technology to achieve communication goals; analyze and select pertinent facts and integrate them into communication vehicles; apply appropriate statistical techniques and methods to research; provide lead work direction. Strong story development and journalistic writing skills, as well as advanced editorial skills. Possession of internet research skills; excellent English oral and written communications skills; sound judgment skills; interpersonal skills; and crossfunctional team leading skills.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
The university offers an excellent benefits package. The salary range for this classification is: $3515 -  $5704 per month. The anticipated hiring range: $3515 - $4700, dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Hours: Full Time; 40 hours per week; 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. May include some evenings and /or weekends.
